Athena walked down the stairs. Zoe turned her back on her former friend. Athena pointed at DTH Jon. "You!"
"What?" He asked.
"We need more information. Leonard needs to know...," she looked at a piece of paper, "how the wormhole mass boundary is established." DTH Jon stared at her. "Look, I want to help you guys. The last thing I want is for Biff to start torturing people. If you tell me I might be able to convince Sarah and him to let you go." She said through the bars of the cage. She smiled and looked somewhat sincere. DTH Jon continued to stare at her silently. She leaned in a little closer. "Actually, he scares me..."
"Enough!" DTH Jon said, interrupting her.
"You're going to help me?" She asked.
"No, I just wanted you to stop the good cop/bad cop routine. You are doing it wrong anyway. Biff should have came in first and started intimidating us, before you replaced him." Athena looked like she was about to stomp her foot in anger. "You are working under a false assumption Athena. I can operate the DTH but I have no idea how it actually works. I can safely assume any attempt to reproduce it, is doomed to failure."
"Just goes to show how little you know. Leonard's already built a prototype, Miss smarty-pants." She said angrily.
"Oh really?" DTH Jon asked. Athena realised she had probably said too much and subconsciously moved backwards. This conversation had not being going well for her. DTH Jon shrugged. "I don't see why it matters to you. All you want is the stone."
"My stone!" Zoe said, with her back still to Athena.
DTH Jon continued. "Sarah is right about one thing, it's dangerous." Athena pointed at DTH Jon.
"That's because none of you knows how to control it properly. I've done my research. I've read the ancients runes and texts. I will use it to make the world a better place. Helping Sarah is just the first step." DTH Jon shook his head.
"And I've done my research too. All the stone does, is corrupt reality. No matter how good your intentions are, if you continually use it, it will destroy this world. It will most probably damage others in the process." He explained.
"You would say that. The stone is power and you are jealous."
Jon sighed. "Look if you help us, I can carefully use the stone to craft a device that will do whatever it is you want to do. That's how I made the DTH."
"I wouldn't trust you with the stone. You would use it against me, besides I have already mastered its power."
Karyn moved beside DTH Jon. "She's not going to listen, she's gone full megalomaniac." Karyn told him.
"You are not true believers in the stone. That's why it doesn't work for you." Athena said. Zoe slowly turned round.
"Jeez, Athena would you listen to yourself?" Zoe said as she walked up to the bars. "Be sensible, let us out of here."
"No. There is no point in talking to any of you." She ran back up the stairs and through the basement door.
"I really had to bite my tongue there." Zoe said as she tightly grasped the bars. "I was about ready to tell her where she could stick the stone."
