Alex had nothing better to do and decided to return to the stoop with them. Before they sat down Toby looked at Alex. "Alex... you're not... a fag, right?" he asked nervously. Leo looked at Alex as well. Alex asked "Why the hell do you want to know?" They both looked at each other nervously as if unsure why they did. "Guys and fags don't mix. That's just how it is" Leo said noncommittally. "Gays are just... gross, you know. I know you're not one. I guess I just... wanted to make sure I was... right? Or something." Alex said "You know I'm not gay. My ex girlfriend was a physical therapy major. She taught me how to make people feel good when they are hurting. You really looked like you were going to die. I was scared." Toby looked at Leo. Leo laughed nervously and said "You were crying like a bitch." Toby looked back and sighed in relief. "Good. I just wanted to clear that up. We're still good in my books." he said as he gave Alex a brief bro hug. Alex accepted it and sat down. It seemed he saved his friendships with Leo and Toby as well.
When a green SUV pulled up, the two stood up. Lee came up to them and nodded. They nodded back with mischievous smiles. "Where the fuck is Mark!? I told you be ready when I come for you." Lee snapped. Lee was one of four captains for the Clovers. Mark burst out the front door with a new set of sweatpants on. "Shit! I'm here!" he said as he stood in front of Lee. Lee rolled his eyes. "I don't know why I deal with you knuckleheads! You look like you'd rather get fucked than fight with those asses you got." The three of them were pissed off, but none of them dared to say or do anything. Lee then looked at Alex. "Who the fuck are you looking at, huh!?" he snapped at him. Alex was tempted to do something to Lee, but he was already pushing his luck with Mark. The three got in the car and drove off. Alex got off the stoop and went to his apartment. He put in a videogame and played until his phone rung five hours later. Alex picked it up and it was from the police station. Alex accepted it and Leo's voice came on. The three had gotten caught during a rumble.
