"Now...what to do with this little item." mused Miss. March as she held the object in question in her dainty hands.

"Well, not to sound rude...but I feel we should lock it up. Or perhaps destroy it, for the safety of..."

Miss. March waved that idea off at once, saying as if she were talking to a child "My dear Ms. Fry, you simply aren't thinking. We've both been improved, haven't we?"

"Certainly, Miss. March, but those were very specific circumstances. If used again on an unwilling subject, the results would be criminal. We can't go about turning all the people of the world into...well, let's be perfectly honest, geeks and nerds. I'm pleased with my changes, and you with you own, but it seems cruel to simply transform everyone else based on our personal experience."

"Perhaps, Ms. Fry...but what about those who can only be saved through this device?"

Ms. Fry frowned, her overbite looking more exaggerated as she pondered that line.

"Saved? I don't quite follow you, Miss. March."

Miss. March went to the school records on her [computer, and opened several files. It was more than three dozen in the end, and Ms. Fry understood what she meant from the start.

"I...see."

Vince Garver. Sheri VanOsdol. Jason Broles. Ronnie Hobbs. A selection of the schools worst people. Not Footballers or Cheerleaders as a class (though some of them were), but obvious criminals and sluts. People whose homeroom might as well be the detention hall. People who smoked in the bathrooms, were flunking most of their classes, and obviously going to move on to lives of crime at best. Criminals and sluts. Slackers and losers. Some of them were thought of as "Cool" and lead other troublemakers in vandalism and truancy. All of them were trouble.

Ms. Fry and Miss. March talked for a bit, but in the end...Ms. Fry agreed that THESE people were doomed if someone didn't help them. And obviously...that someone had to be them.
