Sarah turned and looked at Denise inquiringly "So what is this some kind of joke?" she asked, her voice tinged slightly with disapproval.
"It's no joke, I came in this morning looking and acting just as you would expect; however I was then effected by this" So saying Denise held up the gun "I familiarized myself with it as I was walking over, and it appears to be a Personality Manipulator, it was set to "Geek" when it was fired at me so " she waved a hand down her body indicating her change.
As her colleague was talking Sarah was scrutinizing her appearance, and as she continued a small nagging voice began to whisper in the back of Sarah's mind that as impossible as it sounded, she was telling the truth; it wasn't just the complete shift in attitude she could see in Denise body language, it wasn't even the buck teeth that were undeniably real, and that she'd defiantly not had only the day before, it was the completely earnest way in which she was talking, no sense of dissembling at all, and yet her rational mind rejected what her instincts where telling her.
"There no way that can be true a devise that could make that kind of change, there's simply no way it could exist" declared Sarah almost angrily, her irrational doubt making the statement come out almost accusingly "And with the devices in your hands way don't you simple use it to reverse the change or are you claiming this is a one way transformation" she finished with a slight sneer.
Denise looked at Sarah thoughtfully "I'd have agreed with you this morning about how impossible this sounds, until I got a VERY piratical demonstration of how the devices works and as far as I can see the gun could easily return me to "normal"; I find I simply prefer myself this way"
"What!?" Sarah exclaimed in shock.
"I prefer myself this way, I didn't to begin with but I quickly grew to understand the benefits far out weight any negative impact this may have on me; intelligence is far more important than looks and well frankly I'm more content like this than I can ever remember being before" Denise finished, a slightly ironic simile creeping onto her lips as she saw that her colleague was looking at her liked she'd sprouted a second head.
Denise than sighed "But considering your reaction, it looks like no one will believe this devices can do what I say with out a practical demonstration "
"Your not using it on me!!" Sarah burst out, looking horrified.
Denise looked at her in obvious surprise "Of course not, it isn't as if I' am going to randomly fire this thing at people. But I'd better find a volunteer or Mr McMillan will think I've gone mad "
