They were surprised that we could see them. We were able to drop the guise ans show them our true selves. They were surprised when we told them our mission. "You have to tell us who did this to you. Analim will do his best to avenge you." I said. They looked sad and told us what happened to them. It was an assassin. Apparently, the king had sent an agent in order to destroy the Lady of the North from the inside. Neither of them got a good look at the assailant. Murdering them in their prime was a tragedy. That was not my concern however. I held each of their hands. "Because I am Lin's guardian and Mydaiel is Wen's we will disappear from the world and take you to the afterlife you deserve. Analim will continue his work making sure that Yong is protected. We failed you and we are sorry you had to go through something like this alone." I said. Analim returned to human form. He left the room and went to find Yong. He was going to be the one who was going to need the most support. Mydaiel took hold of our charges and recited the incantation to return.

A bright light began to shine around us and we were taken to what looked like a throneroom. There was a pair of feather resting on one side of a scale while a stone was on the other. Principality Karlel was standing behind it. I thought I could see a hint of a smile on her face, but she was professional. "Wen. Lin. Your life has come to a close. We will see who you are and whether you are worthy of eternal rest or damnation." She held the feathers to the young men. "This stone represents the life of a man minimally qualified to enter the afterlife. Kiss the feather and I will weigh it. If it is lighter, you will be able to rest. If not... you will suffer." Wen was the first born son and he went first. Mydaiel held him for support. It was lighter and the two sighed a breath of relief. Lin was next. He reached for my hand and squeezed it. I held firm. It was even lighter. I expected as much. A pair of angels took them aside to prepare them for the afterlife. Principality Karlel had an eyebrow raised. "I was sorry to see your mission cut short. You lasted a decade longer than Nanael however."
I asked if he passed the exam. She nodded. "His charge passed away due to an illness at the age of 14." she said as she lead us to another chamber. We were told to disrobe and lay on the floor. We did as we were told. In a very arcane ritual, she chanted a spell as she massaged our shoulder blades. It began itching terribly before a warmth spread throughout our bodies. Eventually, a healthy and powerful pair of white wings grew. I was happy with the results. Mydaiel was as well. When we put on our new tunics, they had slits for our wings. We went to the chapel to celebrate our success. We also were awarded all the exp. for the mission. It was enough for 5 levels to be added onto us. That put me at level 23 and Mydaiel at level 21. Technically, that put us in the range to take the Principality Exam. I broached the subject and he said he was all for it. "I want to visit Nanael first. I want to exchange stories with him for a bit." We spent a day with him. After we were done, I got the second time warning. I had all lost track of time after that mission.
