As Susan (Sarah's mom) cried, she thought of how she could never go back to work. She was a fashion model, which she did enjoy being, but now it would be impossible. The people she worked for would never let such an ugly person model for them.
She still couldn't believe that this was happening to her. Her life was over. All the things she liked to do, like going to parties and to the beach and to exotic locales, would be impossible now. Who would invite a geeky woman to high-class party? No one.
But, then, she thought maybe she didn't want that life anymore. Was popularity and looking sexy the only things she cared about? She had a family to take care of, for one. She couldn't just run off to the next party or the next exotic island vacation. Feelings of regret filled her. She wasn't sure why, but she now hated the fact that she had wasted her time being a fashion model, when she could have been doing something more important. Just the idea that she made money from walking around in sexy lingerie appalled her. It was distasteful behavior, one step away from prostitution, in her mind.
She shook her head. What am I talking about? I never felt that way before. What's happening to me? Those were the last thoughts that formed from her previous personality, before her new geek personality totally took control.
She stopped sobbing and looked up at her husband, who had just been affected by the device. She smiled. "Don't worry, honey," she said. "It's gonna be fine."
