Jon woke up the next morning and blinked. For a moment, something felt strange about his bedroom, but no, everything was normal. Jon's Wonder Woman poster was by his bookshelf, his soccer poster above his computer desk, and his 4-H poster on the door.

Jon smiled, imaging that he might one day be as strong as Gal Gadot or Alex Morgan, or Megan Rapinoe. He took comfort in his memories of building a community vegetable garden, and tending to horses with the 4-H club. Yes, whatever strangeness may happen due to his wish for something interesting, Jon knew he'd be able to face it head-on. He was resourceful. He could do this.

The boy leapt out of bed and threw on a T-shirt and a pair of running shorts. He had to meet Karyn for their morning jog.

Karyn, for her part, didn't notice anything odd about the three cheer posters that now adorned her own wall. Why would she expect anything else? Cheerleading was her whole life! If she stopped to think for a moment, she'd wonder why she wasn't on the squad. Or why the rest of her decor, not to mention her wardrobe, was a lot more earth-tone and simple. But she didn't stop to think. She just pulled on a pair of leggings, threw on a running top, and went to meet Jon at their usual spot.

Sarah grunted, barely acknowledging the football poster and wrestling poster that straddled her vanity, not to mention the JROTC recruitment poster that hung above it. Those decorations were nice, but Sarah was focused on more immediate pursuits. She dropped to the floor and did a set of 20 push ups, then turned and did 20 crunches, then another set of push ups. It would be nice if she had a set of weights in her room, but she could do strength training at the school gym if she got there early.

Biff Meadows stumbled out of bed and towards his computer desk, ignoring the workout equipment that he passed along the way. He felt the sudden urge to play Minecraft, even though he knew he didn't have a copy on his computer. He'd have to download one that morning. Biff thought it was odd that he'd have a poster for a game he didn't own. That triggered a thought in the back of his head. Was it odd, or was it interesting? Somehow, that distinction felt important to Biff.

But that thought could wait until later. He had to set up his Minecraft account quickly so that he could finish his Chemistry homework before school. Why hadn't he finished it last night? Was that interesting, too?
