Because I was off of the island, I did not have the miasma anymore. I was glad about that. Daniel and I were bed fellows until the ship with the Protectors. Daniel was intent to be the little spoon. "I better not feel anything poke me. Just because I don't want to wake up with a mouth full of feathers doesn't mean I want to get fucked." he said. I respected it and left him alone. I didn't have the ability to rape anyway. Daniel seemed to appreciate the fact that I was keeping my hands to myself. He was only a 15 year old boy. Doing anything like that to him would be a crime and make me feel like scum. There were no ways to rank up in the guild since we were out of the jurisdiction of the island. There was a separate guild in the area and they followed us to make sure we did not get into trouble on their turf. It made sense and I was sure that I could fight off anyone that wanted to accost us for something. Fortunately, it never came to anything. We went about our business and hung out. As we were leaving the inn on our second day there I knocked into a girl running. She fell and I looked down.

The girl was crying and I pulled her up to her feet. She wiped her eyes and thanked me. "Why is a girl as pretty as you crying?" I asked with a warm smile on my face. It worked and she said "My brothers and I went playing in the crypts with some of our friends. We have played there for years. All of a sudden, the dead bodies started to groan! One even began moving!" She crouched down in terror and held her head. I pulled her up again and asked her to keep talking. "We all ran at full speed, but when I got out, I was the only one." she sobbed. I asked for further details. She had two brothers and their three friends each. That meant there were eleven children. I feared for the worse, but I put on my brave face. A quest popup with a timer appeared. The quest was to find the missing children in under an real world hour. Since it was time sensitive, I assumed that there was danger that could kill them if we did not get there on time. It was a seven star mission. "We'll go look. I'm sure we can find some of them." I said. She lead the way there and pointed to the dark and ajar entrance to an crypt.

Daniel looked at the entrance and said "You're not seriously going to go in there, right!? It looks creepy as hell!" This was going to be my first dungeon and I cracked my knuckles. I was looking forward to it. Daniel groaned as he drew his rapier. I drew my sword as well. We went in slowly and found what looked like a large room. There was another door and we went through it. We could already hear the groans and shuffling feet of the dead in the halls. I lifted my hand as I inched closer. I shot an ice spike as soon as I saw one turn the corner. It sailed through the air and lifted the zombie off his feet and impaled him on the wall. The body disappeared as the ice crystals spread out from the impact point. That drew other zombies to us. They were at the start of the dungeon so I expected them to be weak and slow. I used my sword to fight them. After facing off against Souris, they did not stand a chance. Daniel was also getting his kills in as well. We nodded and went down the hallway. There were several chambers to investigate. We found lots of urns and coffins with some lin in them.

Some had zombies to be dispatched and others were rooms to prepare the dead with embalming tools and closets with coffins already prepared. One of the coffins had a child in it. He screamed until we covered his mouth. In a moment, he went from screaming to sobbing. We led him back to where the antechamber was and told him to go. When he left, the quest was updated to say "Children saved: 1/11." It seemed that it only counted when they escaped. When we cleared the floor we went down a level. As we got down the stairs, the quest was updated to say "Children saved 2/11. Siblings saved 1/2." So, it did not matter if we actually found them as long as the path to escape was clear. That was nice. This level was more like a maze. There were branching paths that made its way down the length of the floor. "Where are we going?" Daniel asked. "Remember this. The way to do mapping out mazes is to pick one direction and stick to it until you find a dead end. That way you can get back without getting lost. We can go right until we can't. then come back and go left. Or vice versa."
