Mikey woke up in the morning hoping that the last week had been a bad dream, but the necklace around his neck said otherwise. He got out of bed and picked up an outfit for the day before going down for breakfast. He was pouring his cereal when Jon came down. After Mikey finished with the cereal Jon took it.
"Hey Mikey, happy Monday. Ready for another week?"
"Yea.."
"How was the trip with girls scouts, really?"
"I had a good time. The girls were really nice to me. Even Mrs Diver was OK. It wasn't what I thought I wanted, but it was nice to be in the woods" Mikey said between bites of his breakfast.
"What did you want?"
"I wanted to hang out with my friends in the woods, my boy friends. Instead I made some new friends."
"Like girlfriends?" teased Jon.
Mikey blushed a little, remembering kissing Diane as Michele, then again as Mikey.
"Mikey, did you make a girlfriend for real?"
"...I kissed Diane," admitted Mikey.
Jon blinked a few times. Somehow, his brother who didn't have any interest in the girl scouts had a good time and even kissed his first girl. Was that the necklace, or just his brother coming of age?
"Mikey, what's the deal with the necklace?"
"Krista gave it to me?"
"Another girlfriend?"
"No, just a friend"
"Anything special about it? You are wearing it all the time now."
Mikey shifted in his seat. He kinda wanted to tell his brother about the trip, the truth of it, but he knew he shouldn't. Jon would probably tease him if he knew the truth. So, Mikey finished breakfast and told Jon that it was special because it was from his new friends, which was close to the truth. Jon left it at that.
Mikey went back to is room and got dressed, packed his back and went down.
His dad had lunch ready for him and Jon so they could get to the bus.
Jon and Mikey took their meals and waited a couple minute for the bus to show up. After a short trip, they were at school and parted ways.
Jon looked at Mikey trying to figure out what was going on when Karyn came up to him.
"Hey Jon, what's up?"
"Trying to figure out what my wish did to help him fit in with the girl scouts."
"Mikey signed up for girl scouts? I thought he was going to camp with the boy scouts last weekend."
"He was supposed to, but he kept going on and on about it, so I wished him to be in the girl scouts. He was really upset about it and I felt bad, so I then did a second wish to help him fit in. I don't know what happened between then and last night, but he seemed to have a good time."
"You can always wish to find out"
"Maybe when I get home. I have the rock hidden there. Ready for first period?"
"Sure am Jon-boy!"

Mikey was joined on the way to homeroom by Krista, Molly and Vicky.
"Hey Mikey" said Krista
"How was it last night at home?" asked Molly.
"It was fine. I had dinner and my family talked over it. They think I had a good time. My brother asked about the necklace this morning, but it was a normal night." said Mikey
"Did you leave the necklace on or take it off?" asked Krista
"I left it on, so I could be a boy. I think I'm going to leave it on for the rest of my life."
"That sounds hard. Krista, can it run out of power?" asked Vicky
"I don't know, the lady at the sale didn't tell me. I started to look up necklaces on the internet, and I didn't find anything. Maybe you should take if off sometimes, Mikey, just in case. The 24 hour thing may be important." said Krista
"I took it off to shower. Maybe that is enough to have it last for a while?"
"But when do we get to use it, if you have it on all the time. That's not fair." said Molly. She wanted to see what life like was as a boy for a couple days.
"But then I'll be a girl!" exclaimed Mikey
"We are all girls, and we don't mind. Mikey, you can have it most of the time, but it is a secret we share, you can't hog it," said Krista
Mikey was sullen, and realized they had a point. He would have to get used to being a part time girl.
"Let's start tonight!" said Molly. A plan was made to meet in the girls bathroom after last period, to which Mikey reluctantly agreed. He was hoping that maybe he could give it to someone during the school day. He walked with the girls to homeroom, where he saw Diane. She waved and he waved back.
"Hey Mikey. Cool necklace." Diane said while winking.
"Thanks. Up for hanging out sometime after school? Maybe we can ride our bikes around, or into the park."
"That sounds really nice Mikey. I'll only a few blocks away from you, so I'll ride over. Vicky told me about the plan, it's nice of you to share the necklace. I like you, whether you are a boy or girl, either way you are fun to hang out with" said Diane.
Mikey blushed and walked over to his desk and talked with his male friends, thinking about last weekend and Diane
