Mikey walked in the door with a sign. The trip HAD been fun, but the necklace issue had really put a shadow over the whole thing. He enjoyed the swimming, resting with the girls and even the arts and crafts. Mikey was going up to his room when his mom called up from the bottom of the stairs.
"How as the camping trip, honey? Did you have fun?"
"Yes mom. It was fun," mumbled Mikey.
"Great. Make sure you put your laundry in the bin and don't leave stuff in your room. Dinner will be ready around 5pm."
"Thanks mom"
Mikey opened the door to his room, put down his backpack and lay on his bed. His mind racing.
"Hey squirt. How's everyone's favorite GIRL scout?" teased Jon.
"Go away Jon. I'm tired from my trip. I need to unpack, shower and get ready for school. I haven't started my homework."
"Fine, fine. Hope you had fun." John said as he turned around and left Mikey in his room. "I wonder how he fit in. Maybe they just became more accepting of him."
Mikey turned over to face the ceiling. He smelled his shirt. It stunk. So did everything else about him. He hopped of his bed, grabbed some clothing and went to the bathroom down the hall. Once he made sure the door was locked, he took off all his clothing. He looked at himself in the mirror.
"So this is boy Michele, or is it Mikey?" the boy thought
Unsure if the necklace could get wet, he decided to take it off. It was the first time he had a mirror when the changed happened. He saw Heather use it, but it was the first time he could take the time to see the changes. He could see the lashes on his eyes change, his waist change ever so slightly. It was very strange watching his boy parts become girl parts. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his He-Man t-shirt become a She-Ra t-shirt, and his shorts became an ankle length skirt. He couldn't see what happened to his underwear, since it was under the other stuff, but he assumed that changed too.
Even as a girl, he was still stinky.
Mikey got into the shower and turned on the water. She rinsed off, lathered her hair with the strawberry scented shampoo and used the lavender body soap. Only when she was partial done did Mikey realize that those products may not have been there before he took off the necklace. Before, he and Jon shared the bathroom, and there was only generic shampoo and bar soap. Mikey rinsed off and grabbed a towel to dry himself. He stepped out of the shower, and finished drying. She liked the smell of her soap. Mikey shook his head. That wasn't his soap. He wrapped the towel around his waist and looked at the clothes. They reminded him to put the necklace on first. He looked at it. The pendant was maybe bronze, held on by a leather strap. He'd have to be careful with the strap. Maybe he could change it?
After his necklace was on, his clothing changed back to "normal" and he put it on before he left the bathroom.
He then unpacked, put his laundry in the the bin and started on his homework.
"Dinner!" his mom called at almost exactly 5 pm.
Mikey ran down the stairs and took his seat. Jon came down moments later. The boys started to serve themselves something and started chatting.
"Mikey, what was your favorite part?" asked Jon, trying to learn more
"Probably swimming. The water was clear and then we took a nap in the sun," replied Mikey.
"Sounds great," said their mom.
"I still don't see why he is in the girl scouts. He's a boy, and should be in the boy scouts, but at least he had fun," stated their dad.
"Roger, we've gone over this. I remember how Jon was at that age, and you, and I thought it would be safer for him," countered their mom.
"I know, I know. But they have him wearing jewelry now. Did you make that in arts and crafts?" asked their dad
Mikey immediately got worried that someone had already noted the necklace.
"My new friend Diane gave it to me. All the girls liked it. She was really nice and I think we are going to be really good friends." said Mikey
Jon's interested renewed. Maybe the necklace had some kind of power to make him really likable. He'd have to get it from Mikey later.
Dinner finished uneventfully. The boys helped with the dishes and clearing the table. Mikey went back to his room to finish his homework for the next day and went to sleep. His dreams were of constantly changing tie-dye shirts, with his body changing too.
