"Uhh..." Alan replied. "I need to discuss something with Jon. Can you leave us alone for a minute?"
"Sure" said the new girl, in Alan's voice. They really did look like twins. Too much--she was the same height and she looked absolutely identical to Alan except for her hips and skirt. "Can you tell me what this is about, later?"
"I think you're going to become pregnant, but don't worry about it."
"What?"
"Don't worry about it."
Joy quickly added "I wish you won't worry about it," and Alison turned around and left. "Now for me," said Joy. "I'm not under a wish to get pregnant but it still should work to make me a guy, right?" She pointed to an empty piece of carpet. "I wish that there's a mindless version of me standing there who looks just like I did right before we entered the mall tonight."
A duplicate of the original Jon appeared but just stared into nothingness.
"Okay, now I wish that my mind would transfer to that body, and this body would have the mind of my twin sister."
With that wish, Jon's perspective was different. That body was no longer starring anywhere--he was a he again, and was the one doing the staring, until he blinked. In the room with him was Alan and Joy. Joy still had his partly transformed body, so she looked exactly like Jon with a skirt and somewhat wider hips. The legs that showed beneath the skirt were still men's legs, and she could have passed for his twin brother, not his sister.
Joy was also holding the stone, and Jon realized his mistake. He should have wished the stone transferred with his mind. "Joy," he said, "I need that stone."
"Already?" she replied in what must have been his voice, which sounded strange coming from another person. "You know Grandpa gave it to both of us." In the new reality, that must have been true. "I'll let you use it in just a minute, Jon. But first, I wish...."
