The magic rock was given to someone in Linda's "new" family, which was Linda's twelve year old daughter Rachel.
In this new reality, Linda married a man named Joseph Miller and had one daughter who was in middle school. They tried for more children, but failed.
Rachel was a great kid. She did well in school, she was in drama club, and was a rather well-liked girl. She wasn't part of the popular crowd, but she wasn't teased either.
She looked at the rock that was sent to her. It was from her grandfather, who had passed away not too long ago. She was surprised and also a little disappointed that her inheritance was just a rock.
But when she read the letter that accompanied it, she discovered that maybe her inheritance wasn't so bad after all. If the letter was true, she could get almost anything she wanted ... and more.
Testing it out, she said "I wish ..."
