21-year old Kelly Brown entered the store and looked around in awe. "Hmm, this doesn't look like the computer store to me," she muttered herself.
"They moved," the young man behind the counter said, startling her a bit. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he said. "As I was going to say, don't worry about it. We have a wide selection of electronics. What did you have in mind?"
"Well, I've been wondering what to give my boyfriend for a present. It's his birthday coming up and I want to give him something really special. He's into computers, so I thought I'd give him something related."
"I understand completely. It just so happens I have a laptop in stock. It's not exactly brand new, but it is in your price range." He pointed to a laptop in the display case. It wasn't as sleek as some of the newer models, but it looked like it had all the necessary equipment. Kelly saw the price tag - $500 - which was exactly the most she was willing to pay for a present. But the brand - "MasterPC" - was one she had never seen before. She may not have been as much into computers as her boyfriend, but she knew the major players. She was sure that "MasterPC" was not one of them. But despite that, she decided to take it anyway. Maybe her boyfriend would get a kick out of it. And if he didn't like it, he could just upgrade it or swap it for parts. He was into that sort of thing.
"Okay, I'll take it," she said.
"Very well," the shopkeeper said. "But be warned, this computer is much more powerful than it appears. Be sure to read the instructions thoroughly before you use it."
"Sure," Kelly said, wondering what could possibly be so bad. It was just a computer.
Before long Kelly was walking out of the shop with the packaged laptop under her arm, heading back to her college dorm.
