Calvin stepped into the cockpit. "A true leader leads from the front. I can beat two Switches on my own." The teacher stood in the middle and said "Okay. When the hatches close begin booting the mecha systems. You can go to the menu and choose the load out. Calvin, what load out do you want? I need to input it." He smirked and said "I want a sword. Give me some Lasers too." She nodded and had a technician enter the commands. The hatch began to seal. "Good Luck, Earn Victory, and above all... have fun." That was when it was totally closed. I face forward and closed my eyes. I could feel Alphonse presence in my mind as I delved into the Operating System to boot the mecha. It was a minigame where I had to run down a path in cyberspace without running into any pitfalls or traps. My two stars in Boot-Up meant my path was shorter than it normally would be. As I was finishing the course, I said "I'm almost ready. What do you want the load out to be?" Alphonse was surprised to hear that so soon. "Already!? You're amazing Davie!" he said.
He must have leaned forward because I could feel something poke me in the ass. I ignored it. I read that the exhilaration of melding with other consciousnesses as well a mecha can cause sexual arousal. To be really honest, I was also hard as a rock. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I was finished booting up and I was now on the load out screen. "What load out do you want!? If we hurry we can get the jump on Calvin and get an early win." I said. He said "I don't know. I wasn't thinking of being the Alpha. What can you connect with?" he replied. I said "I have wheels, a blade two lasers, and a pair of rockets. While I was waiting, I installed the escape pod, radio, It was a line drawing game. I had to draw a line of power from the item I wanted to a port in the cockpit. The more stars, the more ports an Omega could use. Alphonse said "I'm good with two lasers and the wheels. I don't have the best aim." he said. I jumped on that right away. The lasers and wheels were easy as I could just trace the limbs back to the cockpit. Energy fields were generated from the cockpit so it was free.
I equiped a knife just in case. I then entered Battle Mode and the computer world faded away from my sight. Calvin's A.I was still booting up. I said "Quick! Blast it to hell!" Alphonse began running over to it. It was still on one knee. Alphonse had two lasers on each hand from the pointer and middle fingers. He stabbed his knife in the blade hand of the enemy and began blasting it in the chest. It was a dirty move as that was where the booting up happened. A critical damage or an error could force an average Omega to start the whole process over again. Unfortunately, it was not enough to defeat the A.I. It stood up and Alphonse wisely backed up. The mecha was crippled to the point it could not wield the sword or fire from its right hand. He tried and it discharge wrong causing the hand to blow up. He cursed and yelled. We could hear it due to the radio. "Alphonse, don't get cocky. We have a big chance to finish him off right now." I could feel him lean in on me as we rolled over to him as if on skates. I was sure he had it.
Alphonse had executed a running knee and knocked Calvin down. Alphonse pointed the laser fingers at the cockpit. "Give up. We won." he said. We heard chuckling from the other cockpit. "It's not over 'til it's over." Calvin snapped as he swept our leg and sent us crashing to the ground. "Don't underestimate me, dumbasses!" he laughed as he charged the lasers in his fingers. "We got to get up! Focus on that and do your best. I got this!" I said as he grunted in agreement. Alphonse was shaky getting to his feet. "Too late bastards!" he yelled as he released a strong beam. I generated the energy field. It bounced of the field, but the field was immediately losing power and would soon be gone. Alphonse got to his feet and began charging his lasers. "On the count of four, you've got to fire. This is our last chance." I said. He counted down. On four, I dropped the field and one set of beams was canceled out while the other blasted Calvin in the cockpit again. This time there was way too much damage to recover from. A fireball engulfed the cockpit area before an explosion happened.
