There were more classes after lunch, but they were basically lore lessons in the guise of history. When the day came to a close, the teacher gave me a slip of paper that told me where my room was. There were still five hours before lights out. I grabbed Alphonse and hurried out the classroom. I gave him the paper and he read it. "Oh, you are rooming with Karl. He's nice enough for a Muro." I nodded and he said "I don't need to say this, but I think that I should. Always make sure you lock the door to your room at night." I blankly nodded. He sighed and said "Just because we aren't Omegas doesn't mean we are totally safe. Bond Breeding can happen to Switches too." I must have looked as though I was clueless because he sighed and pulled me aside again. "Co-piloting in a mecha is a real mental and emotional bond. You can push the synergy rating along by making a physical bond. One way is to just hold hands and be around each other. Another is... sex." he explained nervously. I could see where he going with this.
He continued, saying "Rape, or Bond Breeding is a crime, but it goes mostly unenforced if it is done by an Alpha. The stress and pain creates a lasting bond. The one on the receiving end can swing anywhere from 10-20% a breeding session. It also makes them lose synergy with others due to the unimaginable trauma. In some ways, it is worse than death." Being forever bound to your rapist did sound horrible. I guess I needed to watch my ass around the Alphas. I took Alphonse's hand and asked if we could visit the infirmary. He blushed as he nodded. He led me to the infirmary. I had to do a full physical anyway. That involved blood work. I asked the nurse if they could compare the synergy between Alphonse and me. The nurse gave us a smile and took us to another room. They took some blood from the both of us and put us on two beds to lie down. The nurse gave us both headsets and said "This will measure your mental synergy. The blood you just gave is very indicative of the physical synergy two people can have, but even that's not every thing. Skilled omegas can attune themselves to better suit their partners."
After half an hour we got our results. The nurse took off the headsets and let us sit up. He showed us a computer screen as the calculations were running. When it finished, it displayed a 69%. With my Super Synergy, it would be 74%. That was well into the optimal range. Two of our classmates walked in and said "So, two Switches are teaming up. Alphonse really latched onto you." These two were not part of the group that made him buy food, but they clearly also were against him. Looking closer the two Draks were identical twins. "I'm Leo and this is Liam. If you want a good pairing, one that can handle you right, you have to go with us." he said. I rolled my eyes and said "I already promised Alphonse and I'm a man of my word. You're welcome to take the synergy test with me though." Liam looked like he was going to say something nasty. Leo caught him in time and said "We can do that for you. But if we score higher, you have to join our group. We need the numbers to get out from Will's thumb." I shrugged and laid back down.
Since they were twins, their blood scores were the same. Mentally, I meshed better with Leo than Liam. Overall, Liam and I scored 78% and Leo scored a 81% with me. I looked at it. With my Super Synergy that raised it to 83% and 86%. It was higher than with Alphonse. "Fine. You two win. We will join the group you're making. Alphonse and me are going to be partners no matter what though." I said. They smiled at me before trying to hug me on the bed. I stopped them cold and told them to first do it with Alphonse. They grumbled but did it. Alphonse and Liam was 58% and Leo was surprisingly a 66% Both scores were sub optimal, but not impossible to accomplish co-piloting. We spent the rest of the day talking before it was time to shower and get ready for roll call and lights out. We went into the Alpha bathroom. There was one for Omegas as well. Everyone was fascinated with my back tattoo. I also liked it. No one else had a tattoo like that. When they got out they all split up for the day. I then followed Alphonse's directions to my new room. When I opened the door, I saw him.
