What do we do regarding continuity, then? I can try and tone it down - or find out some way to handwave a cancellation of it all. (It could be informed that the gods are still mostly asleep and thus there would be no quorum; Lucas would still be thrilled that Neruite entrusted her to talk before deities). Or I can make it so the actual Assembly isn't all THAT big a deal (at least in that its results won't affect the overall plot all that much). The Assembly itself can even take place offscreen and not have visible effects in the plot. My slightly bruised (but don't worry, it'll recover, it's big) ego aside, the main problem here is continuity, I believe.
If at all possible, I'd like to implement that last solution: Lucas would get to experience her personal moment offscreen, it would preserve the continuity (even with our loose approach to it, I'd assume there are some limits) and no effect would come from it in the plot.
