Jake was about to hand Dave the necklace, but stopped himself.
"What is it?"
"Maybe I should try it first."
"I thought you said it couldn't be magic."
"I know I said that, but ... if it turns out to be true ... in that unlikely event ... well, I mean I bought it. I should be the one to try it."
"Fine," Dave said, with a sigh. "But if it works, then I get to use it next."
"Okay, but I doubt it'll do anything." Jake put the necklace on, which was then followed by a laugh from Dave.
"Definitely not your style," Dave said.
"Yeah, well, I'm not keeping it. It's for Breanne, remember?"
"So, what are you going to wish for?"
