A beer appeared out of thin air, manifesting itself on the table in front of Dave.
"Wow, where did that come from?" Dave asked. "Um, Jake. I think your ring might be magic after all."
Jake looked over at his friend. "Ha ha. You're just joking with me, aren't you? Well, alright. I'll play along. I wish I had a beer, too," Jake said. Nothing happened. "Well, there you go. It's not magical."
"Man, no. Really, it is. I wish you had a beer in your hand."
An ice-cold beer came out of nowhere and pressed itself inside Jake's closed fist.
"You see? It is magical. I wonder why you can't use it. Maybe it's the way it's supposed to be? The wearer is turned into a genie of sorts, able to grant other people wishes. I know, I wish that I knew how the ring works." The information suddenly slipped into Dave's brain, causing him to grin.
"Well? How does it work?" Jake asked.
"It grants the wishes of the person closest to you as you put it on. Which means me. And you can't take it off unless I wish so."
"Well, then wish that I could take it off. Breanne will be here in less than an hour."
"No, I think you'll keep it on for some more time. Did I ever tell you of my fantasy, my little secret fetish of sorts?" Dave asked. "I like ..."
