Then it occurred to her. Someone stole her car.
Wait a minute, that was silly. What car? She didn't own the convertible she had just driven here in, any more than she was really a "she". Jessica (once Jake) looked around more carefully. There was no time on the parking meter even though she distinctly remembered parking it and putting the money in. That car hadn't been stolen; it was never here. Was something going around transforming things, and it transformed the car into nothing? People seemed to think she was supposed to be doing whatever she was doing. So how was she have supposed to have come here if she didn't do it in a car?
Jessica got out his (her) cell phone. If that guy thought he was her boyfriend maybe he could give her a ride.
But as she was taking it out of her pocket it buzzed in her hand. The phone number was familiar; it was from Amber. Great, at a time like this....
"Hello? Amber?"
"I saw the weather report. Forget the beach. I'm coming to pick you up. Just stay as close to where I dropped you off as you can get."
"Wait a minute. You remember me, Jake? That's a relief. I'm glad that anyone remembers me., because the strangest thing just happened."
"What? Of course, Jessica. I remember Jake. He's your boss and he gave us this little upcoming gift."
"What?"
"Never mind, I'll be right over. Love you, Jessica!"
Jessica waited in the rain. There didn't seem to be any good building overhangs. She was getting wet, but then, she was in a bathing suit. Getting wet when you're in a bathing suit isn't exactly a tragedy.
Ten minutes later a car pulled up. It wasn't the convertible, but it for some reason had a car decoration that Jake used to have in his own car. Was this some sort of jointly owned car? Amber was driving it, pretty much as Jake/Jessica remembered her. She might have been pregnant, but not by more than three months. Jessica got in the car and tried to figure out what was going on. How could all of this have happened from a bikini that grants wishes? And there was still a half hour left before she could even take it off. Jessica didn't even know if another wish was possible if she put it on again, or if she had to give it to another person, let them make a wish, and take it back an hour later.
And what was that other Jake doing with Breanna?
Meanwhile, back in the shop, Jake walked in. The place was huge, but Jake began searching for what he came for, which was a gift for his girlfriend, Breanne. Today was her birthday. He had made reservations at a nice restaurant, but he had totally neglected to buy her a gift. Now he had less than a half hour to find something and wrap it before Bree would be at his apartment.
Interesting, thought Jon. Jake comes in, gets the bikini, puts it on. It's one size fits all, which makes him a woman. It also has an excuse effect, and after several excuses, he ends up as Jessica, but there's another Jake around.
The new Jake, of course, had the same personality as the first one, except for any slight differences caused by the new history (he was willing to impregnate Amber with a test tube baby of his and Jessica's--that required a bit of a personality change, but just a bit). The new Jake stumbled into the shop, and Jon considered what magic item to offer him. He could always give him another bikini; this Jake was an excuse-maker too. On the other hand....
