Jake (or rather Jessica, now) went back to where she parked her car, but it was gone. "What the hell? Where'd it go?" As she looked into the distance, she could hear and see the approaching storm. Rumbles of thunder turning into clashes and flashes of lightning turning into bolts.
"How the hell am I going to get out of here without a car?" she muttered to herself.
Jessica looked around and noticed that the beach was mostly deserted, which was understandable under the circumstances. But that meant that she couldn't easily hitch a ride. The only other option was to walk home. But walking home in a severe thunderstorm was not a good idea.
No, she'd have to do something else.
