"God," Jon said frustrated, "I just wish I knew what the hell was going on here." The tingling sensation in the back of his head returned, and Jon went wide eyed at what had really happened.

Well, actually, that's what he was expecting, anyway. After the tingling stopped, he got no answer.

But he really didn't need one. The fact that Zoe's wish had come true and also the fact that he tingled anytime someone said the words "I wish" meant only one thing: Jon had become the stone. And any wish that he heard would be granted. Except, apparently, any wish that he made. He supposed that since he was the stone now, the stone itself couldn't wish for things. Really, that's the only thing he could come up with, according to what he'd seen so far.

He walked upstairs. He was planning to wish that Zoe wouldn't notice their mom being different. But that option was out. He walked into her room. Her door was open.

She was packing her bag, like she was going somewhere.

"Zoe? What are you doing?"

"I'm going to that concert." She continued packing.

"But mom said ..."

"Fuck what she said," she snapped. "She really doesn't understand. I need to go to this."

"Actually, she ..." Jon started to say.

"What? She what?"

"Um, I think you might want to sit down for this." He pulled her over to her bed, but she yanked away from his grasp.

"What is it Jon? Just tell me."

"Mom's not really herself anymore."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

This wasn't going to be easy. How was he supposed to explain this without mentioning the fact that he can grant wishes?

"Zoe!" their mom called from downstairs. "We better get going soon. I don't want to miss the first song."

Zoe turned to Jon. "What's she talking about?"

Then Jon just blurted it out. The cat was already halfway out of the bag, anyway. "Mom is a Goth."

"What?"
