Jon sat wide-eyed, realizing what his errant wishing had done. Earlier that day he had wished for the stone do never get lost. He didn't realize it at the time, but this meant that the stone had become a part of him, nestled in the back of his head where no one could get to it without him dying. So, in effect, he could never actually "lose" the stone.

Of course, the unintended side effect of this apparently was that whenever he heard someone make a wish, he'd be forced to grant that wish. The stone had merged with his essence apparently, becoming a part of him. That meant any errant wish, from ANYONE could throw things off. Jon realized this, and got very worried. Someone could wish for horrible things as a simple joke, and they'd actually happen with this stone. Quickly, he tried to think of a way to undo things.

"I wish..." he began, "That I can reverse any wish that I or the stone grant." He thought of the wording, trying to make sure there were no loopholes. Idly he thought back to his sister, and trying to make sure that she didn't know about him or the stone, he added, "I also wish that my sister didn't think there was anything different about our mother."

Jon was very worried, but then again a part of him was thrilled at the opportunity he was faced with. Here he could do practically anything he wanted, and he had an out now. Plus, no one could ever use the stone against him, he had found a way to protect himself in a foolproof fashion. Smiling, Jon went to bed.

The next morning at school, Jon walked down to the street corner where he met Karyn. He had a smile on his face, as he strolled along with little cares in the world.

"What are you so happy about," Karyn asked, tiredly. She hadn't been able to sleep all night because of her stupid wish that she had made the day before.

"No particular reason," Jon smirked, and he walked along at a brisk pace. Quietly he whispered to himself, "I wish Karyn would forget all about the rock."

"What was that," Karyn said, uncomfortably adjusting herself. She had underwent a growth spurt practically over night, some kind of hormonal imbalance or something, and was incredibly uncomfortable with everything.

"I said I hope I do well on the history test today," Jon replied. In time the two of them arrived at school. As they walked towards their respective lockers, Jon and Karyn passed by Sarah MacMillan, who just strutted by, confident of her own supremacy over the lot of them. Karyn snarled at her behind her back, and turned to Jon.

"You know, sometimes I just wish that she was as ugly on the outside as she was on the inside."
