Lucas:
30-year-old Brazilian translator. Looks 25. Weird, ironic, tends to be a bit brash, smart though she is.
Appeared first to save Robert from the Purifiers, and got involved in the "devil changed" issue by being "recruited" to help with the security of the party. Met Cass in the process by chance, with a little help from Robert.
Cass:
31-year-old social studies teacher. Looks 20 (as far as age is recognizable in an anime). Rather gentle and cautious.
Appeared first meeting Lucas by chance when going to study the bigots at the party. Met Lucas.
Their story so far:
Met. Became quick lovers after winning the "fight" against their common enemies (the bigots in the party and so on). Their next date involved Lucas and Cass visiting the outskirts of reality. After nearly destroying the universe and nearly spending eternity in their respective personal hells due to their own guilt, they were saved by Selene, whom Lucas refers to (and sees) as Neruite, an RPG goddess she once dreamed about.
Selene/Neruite explained a few more things and got Lucas and Cass to help her with getting a means to secure the border to prevent the same kind of universe destruction Lucas had just come REAL close to causing. The reward for this gig was two plots of land on the Moon for each, in which the two have a considerable amount of power.
Lucas and Cass used these plots of land for - aside from creating a lavish place for themselves there - political leverage: They would sell the access to their plots of land for ease of research and other things to governments, with, besides the money, the condition that the government in question abstained from propping up or supporting oppressive regimes.
They nearly went to the media about it, but met Agent Hawkins, who had found out about them having the plots of land on the moon and offered his help - so long as they kept it secret. He went on to take them to some scientists and to see to it that his own country became the first to accept Lucas's proposal.
Selene, in the mean time, made the decision to take Lucas and Cass with herself to the Assembly, a meeting of the gods. There is no rule against it, mainly because no god would even CONCEIVE of doing such a thing under normal circumstances.
They will be allowed (and indeed expected) to speak their minds there.
Status:
Lucas is currently Cass's lesbian lover. They didn't really have time to think about becoming valentines or anything, but it seems to be a matter of time. They have not discussed whether or not their relationship is open, but, given that they are dealing with divine beings, Venus included, and that both are into women, it will come up sooner or later, and, whatever the decision, it will be made in an unusually smooth fashion.
Whether Venus or anyone else, god or human, will be willing to give the strange duo the time of the day even if they DO decide to call said person for a threesome is another matter entirely.
