It was Zoe who changed. The Zoe who was in Karyn's bedroom was a tomboy, just like she was.
Her hair was back to its natural color, and she wore loose fitting, comfortable clothes. She and Karyn started out the door for school.
Meanwhile, at home, Jon was frowning. The stone had done something. But he clearly wasn't in Karyn's room.
He tried again. He hardly saw Karyn during the day. They didn't share the same classes this year, having been put into different sections. There wasn't much difference between one Math class and another.
"I wish Karyn and I shared most of the same classes," he said. The stone flashed.
