Steve thought, rubbing his constricted throat for a moment. "How did you know to look under Greek mythology? the most common symbol for Aphrodite is the one for Venus, which most people would just mistake as the symbol for woman," he said, speaking with effort in a tone more to his normal voice.
Athena shrugged. "I don't know. I just knew to check there."
"Any ideas on how to reverse it? Is there any mention of how lifting curses or countering magic items worked in greek mythology?" Steve asked.
Athena shook her head. "No, I don't believe so. Besides, would it really be so bad, having gods and goddesses among us once more? Just think, you, the true Athena, goddess of wisdom, able to assert your power in the world once more. I mean, it's possible you're not really changing at all, but the rings are merely revealing your true selves!" she said with obvious excitement.
Steve could see the growing mania in Athena's eyes. "Right. I best be departing, now," he said, turning to go before the girl's new behavior grew any worse.
"I'll be here, if you need me," Athena said, returning to her book.
