"Incredible!" Leonard mused. "This is the first time I've initiated multiple swaps between more than two people. The reality buffers seem to be holding, excellent."
"This is not excellent Leonard, this is fucked up!" His knees were still wobbling. He couldn't take it. Finally, he managed to hoist himself up and sit on the counter he'd been leaning against. It definitely took the strain off his feet, but sitting made the dress feel even more snug. And he had to clamp his knees together to keep from giving Leonard a show of the panties he could definitely feel stretched across his member.
"Well, I could give you Allie's knowledge and muscle memories about shoes. Then you'd have no problem standing in those things. It's not like 'she's' using it!" he said with a chuckle, gesturing to the swapped newscasters. Rick-as-Allie was still prattling on, none the wiser in Jon's t-shirt and jeans.
"I don't want that! I just want you to put things back to normal."
"I can't do that yet, Jon. There's so much more to test! Remember those features I said were in beta testing?"
"What about them?"
"Let me show you." He said with a wink. A bit more fiddling with his phone, and Jon saw in a snap that Rick and Allie were back in their normal lives. Well mostly. Rick was back in his suit but Allie was in Jon's clothes.
"Ok, great," Jon said. "Now just swap me and Allie back!"
"Not quite." Leonard said slyly.
He watched, and suddenly Allie was back in her dress, her face once again covered in makeup. Great! Jon thought, That must mean that I... he looked down and realized he still had on the same blue dress. He could still feel the makeup too.
"What the hell, that's not a swap!" Jon shouted.
"Precisely! I can copy and paste attributes too!"
"But where did my original clothes go?" Jon asked, suddenly worried about the stone.
"They simply don't exist. According to anyone but us, you and Allie Swenson have always worn the exact same thing at all times. Of course nobody thinks of it that way. To them it's just normally how each of you dress. If you went home right now nobody would bat an eye at your getup!"
"That makes no sense!" Jon was suddenly extremely worried. Had Leonard erased the stone from existence? He wasn't sure he should even ask that sort of thing... Leonard, though, wasn't even paying attention to Jon's reaction.
"Seems to be holding with just the clothes. Let's try a bit more."
A few more taps and suddenly Jon felt a weight on his head and something brushing his shoulders. He shook his head and saw shiny, blonde waves everywhere. He had Allie's hair! He looked at the screen - her hair was the same. So another copy. The machinery on the wall seemed to be humming louder. The camera cut to a wide shot and Jon noticed something odd - Rick appeared to have Allie's hair too. Identical blonde tresses framed his face. He didn't seem to notice it was odd.
"Oh that's not supposed to happen. Let's see..." Leonard tapped again on his phone. The humming grew louder. Reality blinked again. Rick was now wearing the same blue dress as Jon and Allie. "Shit shit shit!" Leonard said, it was clear he hadn't planned this.
"Um... Leonard..." Jon said, trying to get his attention.
"Not now, I'm trying to stop a buffer leak! It could overload the system!"
"But Leonard, your hair!" he stopped and looked - he had Allie's hair too! He grabbed a handful and tugged with futility.
"This is new..." Leonard said. The machine's hum turned to a whine and sparks began shooting out from several different panels. Jon looked at the TV again. Rick had also gained Allie's makeup. And his expression had changed.
"I'm Allie Swenson," he said.
"And I'm Allie Swenson," the original Allie followed. "Thanks for watching," they both said in unison. A loud BANG erupted from the machinery on the wall and the TV flicked off. Jon looked over at Leonard, now in the same blue dress and makeup, and suddenly a wave of dizziness washed over him...
