"Hey Scarlet, it's Drake," began the message. "Please answer your damn phone in future, okay? I called to remind you about your audition today. Don't forget it! Remember, this could be your big break! It's at 10am in a studio at the mall. There'll be signposts there but if you can't find it, ask. If you're late, or if you miss it, I'll never, ever forgive you! Bye, Freckles! Kiss kiss!"
"So Scarlet has an audition?" pondered Scarlet. "I'm an actress??"
Scarlet figured this Drake guy must have been her agent, so she would definitely have to meet with him later if she could. Since she was heading to the mall anyway, maybe she should try the audition?
She groaned, "But I don't know how to act!"
"No kidding," said the grumpy man sitting next to her.
"Sorry," Scarlet grinned nervously. She realised she'd been talking to herself this whole time. "I didn't mean to talk out loud. I was excited because, well, I, sorry!"
The man rolled his eyes and turned away to look out the opposite window. Scarlet felt a little embarrassed but still very excited.
"I'm an actress," she mumbled quietly. "I have to tell Karyn!"
