After the stone glowed, though, Jon saw that nothing had changed. Her mom was still there and everything seemed normal.
But the stone did glow, meaning the wish did get granted. But what did it do?
"Jon, you look different," Karyn said.
"Of course I look different. I'm a girl now."
"No, that's not what I mean. Look," she said, pointing at the hallway mirror.
Jon looked at herself and saw what Karyn meant. Whereas before she looked like an older version of Zoe, now she didn't look like she was even related to her family at all. They could have been strangers.
"What did it do to me?" Jon asked.
Karyn took the stone from her and said "I wish to know what the outcome of the last wish was." The stone glowed and she knew.
"Well?" Jon asked.
