Jon met up with Karyn at their usual meeting spot - the wall where he first showed her the wishing stone.

"Did you bring it?" she asked.

"Of course," Jon answered, pulling the stone out of his pocket. "But there's something wrong with it."

"How so?"

"It granted one of my wishes to Zoe and then another of my wishes wasn't even granted at all."

"That's strange."

"Definitely. I'm not sure, but I think it might be broken. It looks like you'll have to put up with all the attention after all."

"Attention?"

"Yeah, because of your blond hair and big breasts."

"Why would that attract attention? I mean, I suppose I could understand the breasts, but you know how unpopular blond hair is."

"Huh?"

"If I really wanted to attract attention, I'd dye my hair black. But I don't have any interest being part of the popular crowd."

"But I'm part of the popular crowd," Jon said. It was what he wished.

Karyn laughed. "Yeah, whatever, Jon. You're not even Goth in the slightest."

"Goth? What does being Goth have to do with it?"

Now Karyn got a worried look on her face. "Did you accidentally wish your memories away or something? All the popular people are Goths, Jon. Like your sister."

Jon turned away from Karyn and looked at the people milling about near the school. Everyone seemed just about normal, except ...

He stared, watching a thin and pale boy walk towards the school. His black hair was formed into spikes and he wore black lipstick. His clothing consisted of a fishnet shirt, a black under-bust corset, a long black leather skirt, and black boots. A spiked collar was around his neck.

"Don't stare at Biff, Jon. You know how much he hates that," Karyn said.

It was Biff, the star quarterback of the football team. But ... now he was Goth. What had happened? This wasn't what he wished.
