As Jon walked out of the store, he got a phone call from Karyn.
"Karyn, are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah. A little wet, but ..."
"Wet?"
"Yeah ... actually, I really don't want to talk about it now."
Jon heard police sirens grow louder and then fade away.
"Listen, Jon. I've gotta run. Unless you can just wish me back to your house."
"I can't. I don't have the stone."
"What?"
"Yeah. I made a wish and suddenly I found myself at Friendly's Foods. But without the stone. I think it might still be back in my bedroom."
"You better hope no one finds it," Karyn said.
"Believe me, I do," Jon said.
"Listen, Jon. I'm too far away to go to your house and then to school, so I'm just gonna go straight to school. Okay?"
"Sure. I'll see you there."
