"Sorry, Karyn. My image is too important to me," Sarah said.
Karyn was crushed. Sarah, the person she always admired, was rejecting her, even after she went out of her way to make Sarah be her friend, using the wishing stone.
Her eyes went wide. The wishing stone! She could use it to make Sarah choose friendship over popularity. But where was it? Thinking back, she realized that she must have left it in the restroom. She turned and hurried back there, hoping that no one had found it yet.
"Finally, the freak is gone," Allison said, before continuing to gossip with the rest of her friends.
But Sarah felt badly for Karyn. She really did feel like they were still friends, despite what just happened. But Karyn had pushed her into a corner. Why couldn't Karyn just act like the girl she originally became friends with? Why was she acting so weird suddenly?
Karyn ran into the restroom, making sure to not trip on her gothic dress, then pushed open the stall door, only to find her discarded preppy clothes ... and nothing else. The stone was gone!
"Did you find anything?" Athena asked.
"Just this," Zoe said, holding up the stone she found.
