"You're first," Jon announced.
His sister turned around, obviously perturbed. "What the fuck are you ..."
Suddenly, a bolt of electricity shot out of Jon's hand and struck Zoe squarely in the chest. Then her body began to glow. The glow was so bright that for a moment, Jon couldn't even see his sister. And when the glow faded, Jon saw the brand new, perfect, Zoe.
She still looked kind of gothic, but not overly so like she did before. No, this version of Zoe looked beautiful, the way a girl should look.
"I'm perfect," she said plainly, as if it were just a matter of fact. "I know how you did this. I understand. I ... I'm like you."
"Not completely," Jon said. "You may have my knowledge, but you don't have my power."
"True, but that's the only thing that separates us," Zoe said. She envied Jon's power and wanted it for herself. And at the back of her mind, she plotted a way to take it from him. Jon just wasn't the type of person who should have it. But Zoe was.
