"I wish you'd at least picked up a ticket."
Dave blinked as he felt something in his left hand. Lifting it up, he saw it was a raffle ticket. Then, he glanced down to see that Rebecca still touched his hand, the hand carrying the pendant. She must have been in contact with it when she made that wish. Hiding his surprise, he casually pulled his hand away and smiled.
Spotting the ticket, Rebecca laughed. "Oh, it looks like you did take one."
"Uh, actually, I just found it. Didn't know what it was."
"Oh." Becca shrugged. "Well, feel free to enjoy the rest of the evening here. I'd better greet Carter, too. Welcome to the Becca Ball, Dave." Leaning forward, she gave him a peck on the cheek and headed over to talk to his still gloomy friend.
"Hm, I wish we had another bowl of punch," Dave mumbled. Instantly, a second bowl appeared on the snack table. "Looks like we're back in business. Carter's gonna be happy when he hears " At that moment, watching the other boy making conversation with Rebecca, Dave considered some new options.
