(really enjoyed the additions, had an idea for a slightly different direction)
Audrey was about to admonish Josh again when she heard a rumble of footsteps trampling up the stairs behind her. She turned around just in time to see Josh's best friend Mike Davis brush past her and into Josh's room.
"Oh hey Mrs. R. How're you doin?" He said a little too nicely. His eyes lingered on her for a moment, very obviously checking her out, as he plopped down next to Josh and picked up a controller.
"Mike," she greeted, clearly not enthused. "I didn't know you were stopping by."
"Hey mom, can you grab us some sodas?" Josh asked.
"No! I need you to clean up your messes so I can start getting dinner ready! Mike, you should probably head home. Now's not a good time."
"Aw mom," Josh said, "I'm just trying to entertain our guest!" he said sarcastically, causing him & Mike to burst out laughing.
Audrey scowled. "That is it young man, you need to shut off that game and get your butt in gear right NOW!" As she said that, she squeezed the remote that she'd almost forgotten was in her hand. Her thumb hit one of the buttons and a bright beam of light shot out and filled the room before coalescing around Mike. Audrey's eyes went wide as the light cleared.
