Sarah looked amazing. Long dyed-black hair, pale skin, dark make-up, a black choker, a long black gothic dress that made her look like a witch, and black boots. The old Sarah would never wear anything like this. But that Sarah was gone, replaced with this new (better, as far as Zelda was concerned) gothic version.
Kyla and Karyn looked equally amazing. "Kyla the Geek" would now be known as "Kyla the Goth". Dyed-blue hair, pale skin, dark blue make-up, piercings (nose, ears, and lips), a spiked collar, a fishnet shirt underneath a black underbust corset, a black torn miniskirt, fishnet stockings, and black boots. Karyn had dyed-black hair, pale skin, dark make-up, piercings (nose and ears), a black choker, a black corset, a long worn skirt, and black boots.
They walked towards her, but then passed right by. They had grouped together, like the three of them were now friends, but they didn't even look at Zelda.
"Hey," Zelda said.
Sarah turned around. "Huh?"
"Aren't we friends now?" she asked.
"Why would we be friends with you? You're a freshman." Sarah turned back around and kept walking with her two new Goth friends, Karyn and Kyla.
Zelda should have expected as much. But at least she wasn't the only Goth at school now.
