It was hard for Zelda to be a lone Goth, so she said "I wish I wasn't the only Goth at this school." The stone glowed. But instead of being granted to her, it was granted to everyone within a 50-foot radius, which included Sarah, Stephanie, Karyn, Zoe, Athena, Kyla Leeson (one of Athena's "new" geeky friends), and several other students milling about in the hallways, talking to each other or getting stuff from their lockers. Jennifer and most of Athena's "new" friends were outside the 50-foot radius, so they weren't affected by Zelda's wish.
Jennifer took one look at the Goth crowd, sneered, then turned around and left with Stephanie, who still remained like Jennifer. Stephanie had already been changed into a non-Goth by a previous wish and wishes can't be reversed, so that's why she was unaffected. The same was true for Athena and Zoe. They also turned away and left.
But Sarah McMillan was now a Goth. And as far as she knew (and everyone else, except for Zelda), she had always been that way. The same was true for Karyn, Kyla, and the other students that were within 50 feet of Zelda.
Zelda smiled, as Sarah, Karyn, and Kyla walked towards her. They were Goths now. But then, she wondered if they were her friends or not.
