As the teacher started to give that day's lesson, Karyn tried to think of the best way to state her wish. She had to be as precise as possible, since wishes couldn't be reversed, only specified. Apparently, her mind was too much on the wishing stone and not on the lesson, though, because a few minutes into the class her teacher cleared her throat.
Karyn looked up, startled.
"Miss Black, I urge you to pay attention to me."
"Sorry, Mrs. Watson," Karyn said.
The teacher "hmphed" then returned to the lesson, writing something up on the chalkboard. When Mrs. Watson's back was turned, Karyn mumbled something under her breath. It was a wish, but she hadn't realized what she had done until after she made it. Once again, her carelessness caused a world of trouble. Only this time, it was worse, because this wasn't the ordinary wishing stone.
"I wish ..." Karyn started to mumble.
