By the end of the period, Jon and Jonnie knew that in the new reality, the only explanation for why Jon had a girlfriend just about identical to himself was magic.
This morning his sister Zoe had had an old piece of parchment which she thought looked cool, since it was so old. She hadn't used it for anything other than a room decoration. But when she was describing it to a friend over the phone, she had read off the inscription. The inscription zapped Jon, turning him into two people, and the words vanished from the parchment. The two felt like they knew each other very well--which they did--and it was love at first sight....
"We need to get the real stone back," said Jon. "This is so awkward and it can even be dangerous."
"Awww," replied Jonnie. "But you're right. In the meantime, after school, why don't we...."
