"I think picking us up around 7:30 is okay," said Jon. "Anyway, see you later... I've got to go." And he hung up.
"So it's that Milo?" said Jen.
"Yeah," replied Jon.
"Who?" asked Karyn.
"Oh," said Jon. "I really did date Lila a few times before the wishes. I knew her brother was named Milo but I've never met him. Uhh, Karyn, when you say that we're dating them, you do mean I'm dating the girl and Jen's dating the guy, right?"
"Yeah."
"I just wanted to be sure."
"I have an idea," said Jen. "I could wish for Milo to turn into Lila's identical twin sister. It's hard for that wish to go wrong."
"But using wishes has some bigger risks than usual until a week from now..."
"Yeah," said Jen. "Besides, we have another problem." She looked at the net.
"Maybe not," said Jon. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"I think so!" said Jen.
The two went outside, picked up a volleyball that had been left on the ground, and tried playing. They didn't have a team, but they were really quite good at it. It seemed that although they didn't really remember the new reality, they had certain skills that they would have picked up.
So everything was okay, for now. But the date may be a problem for Jen....
