Shocked, Karyn dropped the stone. "I wasn't thinking!" she yelled. "I forgot, the stone can't be reversed. You mean, you're stuck like this forever?"
"I don't know," said Jen, picking up the stone. "Let me think of something. First, we need to figure out what to do about this guy... Hmm. I wish that the amnesia stone would vanish unless I command for it to appear again. I wish that this thief would forget about both magic stones, and that he'd be convicted and in jail for trying to steal a valuable diamond."
"What's that for?" wondered Karyn.
"I figure we can't get him arrested for trying to take the stone, but we could get close. Just use something valuable instead... and this stone is more valuable than any diamond there is!"
"Yeah, look, I'm sorry. Turning you into a girl was just a prank... there's got to be some way to change you back."
"I don't think so," said Jen. "I think the closest we could get is to modify the wish somehow. Like we made that tree branch dark blue."
"But how could that wish be modified?"
"Well, I have to be a girl," said Jen, "but how about this? I wish that I would become two people, and one of us is a girl."
Karyn had to look away, and when she looked back, both Jon and Jen were standing there. The female version was holding the stone "Wow," said Karyn, "it worked..."
"Yeah," replied both of them at once.
"I'm still a girl!" said Jen. "But as I was thinking..."
Jon continued her sentence. "... while one of us always has to be a girl, we don't have to stay that way..."
"In fact," said Jen, "I wish that once either of us has been a girl for at least the past week, we can swap bodies."
"Swap bodies?" wondered Karyn. "I get it. You have to be a girl, but that can be either one of you. But a week is still a long way off."
"Yeah," said Jen. "And not only that, things have changed as if we were always two people and we need to live like that, whether we swap or not." She pointed outside the room--the room across the hallway wasn't a storage room any more. "That looks like my room, right across from this one. We should go see what it's like..."
