"No, no! It's nothing like that. I ..." Linda tried to think of some explanation to get herself out of this, but nothing came to mind. She really had no idea how she got here, or why she was wearing this woman's daughter's clothing.
"I'm calling the police," Susan said.
"I'll...mail the uniform back," Linda said, making a beeline for the door. Confused or not, she wasn't going to get arrested. At least she was wearing athletic footwear. She was out the door and down the driveway before Susan finished dialing the phone. She needed to get home before she got arrested!
Linda wasn't the only individual concerned with the police. Mrs. Wright had called them, and Grace Littleton found herself being taken in by the police, who were arranging for her to get evaluated, insisting she had no idea how she had gotten into the apartment. She'd also lost her glasses somewhere, but seemed to be able to see fine without them.
You could not say the same for Melissa Smith, who had to put them back on, finding she suddenly couldn't live without them.
