On the drive there Lauren marveled on how natural the skill came to her. Before all this happened she barely passed her driving test and her boyfriend joking alway insisted on driving. By now she felt like she had been doing it for years. While sipping the mug of hot coffee she pulled into the teachers parking lot.
Smiling “nice my favorite spot is open!” Seeing the one closest to her classroom available then parking the car stopping herself. Growing scared “wait no not my favorite spot....Ms Trans...” pulling down the mirror seeing a nervous middle aged Asian woman looking back at her. Opening the car door she took a step out almost fumbling. Looking down at herself seeing the tan heels, black skirt and tan button down she instantly thought “what am I wearing!” Taking another step almost tripping. Then Lauren felt an odd feeling over come her. Starting to walk more confident she glanced back down and unknowingly smiled at her choice of wardrobe.
Making it to her classroom she went through the natural motions of setting up the class. At the end of getting the handouts ready she stopped herself once again. “Wow it’s like if I just let myself I go into Ms Tran mode.” Biting her lip nervously “I...I have to hold onto me or I might fully turn into her.” Then noticing once again how uncomfortable she was in the blouse and skirt.
Just then a knock at the door startled her. Turning she saw Mrs Elliot walking in. “Good morning Lonna!” She stated
Lauren smiled “um good morning Mrs....I mean Mary.” Thinking that now was the time she wanted Ms Trans personality to get her out of this situation.
“I was just walking by and wanted to see if you need anything for the day?” Mary said
Lauren growing comfortable stated “oh no thank you Mary. I know standardized tests are coming and it’s always a stressful time but for the next week I should be fine.”
Mary smiled “ok just asking. I know yesterday things were a bit weird with your student Lauren.”
Lauren instinctively rolled her eyes at the thought of her student. “She’s always trouble but I hope I can guide her in the right path.”
Mary walking out stated “if anyone can it would be you.”
Lauren couldn’t believe that she instantly talked shit about herself and what scared her more was that she felt she meant it.
“I wonder what Laur.....no..no...” Lauren catching herself. “I wonder if Ms Tran in my body is noticing the changes.” Fiddling with a button on her blouse as she thought “and if she has fallen deeper into being me!”
