Jon got bored of the book really fast and fell asleep while reading it. He woke up to someone calling to him. "Hey! Hey, wake up you lazy creep!"
When Jon looked up at who was talking to him, he came face to face with another sprite that looked a lot like Kremdal, except that his hat and tunic were red, instead of blue. He was on his bedside table, sitting on the wishing stone, like it was a chair.
Jon was groggy and not really too awake. "Huh? What is it? What do you want?"
The sprite looked angry. "You didn't even finish Chapter One, you lazy bum! Do I have to give you an incentive?"
"What? What are you talking about?" Jon asked, getting a little more awake now.
"Just a little something I had in mind, to get you to start reading that book. You have a friend named Karyn, right?"
That made Jon bolt upright. "What about her?"
"I don't know. I was thinking of doing something to her ... if you don't start reading that book soon."
"But it's so long. It would take me forever."
The sprite glared at Jon. "I'll do it, you know."
Jon didn't need any more convincing. He didn't want to see Karyn get hurt. He grabbed the book, opened it to Chapter One and continued reading from where he left off.
After reading a few pages, he looked at his bedside table and saw that the sprite in the red tunic was gone. Jon closed the book, meaning to put it away. But the little guy's voice came out of nowhere yelling "Hey! I saw that!"
Jon opened the book up again and continued to read.
