I like the starting it over and having them older, kids just less interesting and have fewer or at least shallower motivations. But creating a whole new story seems like a lot of work, we already have the stereotypes and characters all set and in our heads from the FB 1.0, why not build on that? Why not restart the story but have it start in college? John and Karyn can still be Juniors, moving towards some sort of job or life, Zoe can be a college freshman experiencing the freedoms and partial insanity that Freshman year brings, they can drink, drive, have jobs, be adults wanting a life or kids wanting to have fun. It opens a lot of doors. Also Sarah can still be a bitch, but not just because she is a cheerleader and rich, but because she is actually a bitchy girl. I think of we get these characters out of High school and into a slightly more real world they will have to have motivations outside of simple high school stereotypes, they will have to be going some place with their lives, and I think that addition will make the characters and stories come to life. We've mostly been writing High school stories because that's what the main root told us to do, but we have a chance to change that here.
We've done High School, we've filled a site with it, lets fill the next one with something new, lets move this thing forward. Tomorrow I'm going to write a draft of the College idea I have in my head, I'll post it by about 7 MST.
