As Zane dashed out, Romelia urged hys youngest sonne to hurry up.

“Come on, sweetie, you’d better hurry up as well. I want to be home in time before the bois get here.”

“Okay, Dad,” Michelle-Anne replied, speeding up a little but being careful not to spill any milk over hys outfit. Like most ten-year-old boys, Michelle-Anne was already pretty fashion conscious, and while hys dad had helped him to get dressed, hei did have a say in what he wanted to wear. Today hei was wearing a pink dress covered by a white fluffy cardigan. His shoulder-length hair was styled into a cute French braid with the help of his dad.

After finishing hys breakfast, Michelle hopped off hys chair and rushed upstairs to collect hys things for school. Meanwhile, Romelia took off hys apron and made sure that hys hair and makeup were perfect before hei headed out.

As hei waited for Michelle-Anne, Romelia put on a pair of white gloves and picked up hys purse, out of which hei fished out hys car keys. Like most househusbands, Romelia drove a simple minivan. It was large enough that hei could have all three of hys children in the back, and there was plenty of room for groceries. Hys wife Lin, of course, drove something flashier.

Romelia smiled as hys sonne came bounding down the stairs, a small purse in one hand and hys school books in the other. Hei looked every bit like the fine laddie that hei was growing up to be. Romelia knew that hei was going to be a great househusband one day.

“Ready?” Romelia asked as Michelle-Anne nodded excitedly. Michelle couldn’t wait to get to school and see all of hys friends.

Romelia led Michelle-Anne out of the house and towards the car. Romelia spotted a few of hys neighbors doing the same thing with their children, and Romelia waved at them. Romelia opened the passenger door and helped Michelle-Anne into hys seat. Making sure to slide into hys seat gracefully and not to flash hys panties, Romelia got into the driver’s seat and started the engine.

The car radio, tuned to the local bois’ station, sprang to life as Romelia pulled out of the driveway. “Hey bois! This is Sparkle FM and you’re listening to me, Lilly Lowe!” the low but bubbly voice announced. Romelia rolled hys eyes in disgust. They sure know how to make these bois' stations sweeter than chocolate cereal, but Michelle-Anne seems to lap it up. “In the weather, it’s a dry and sorta cool day out there, highs near 55, low tonight of 36. The latest from Rylie Cowher in a moment!” hei teased, the cue for the station to launch into a commercial break that lasted the rest of the short drive and featured ads for Kinnabelle dolls, vacuum cleaners and hair products.

Before the station returned from break, Romelia’s van had already pulled up in front of Sandalwood Bois’ Elementary School. It was a low-slung, charming building; fathers sent their sonnes off, while other young ones disembarked from the pink bois’ school buses.

“Have a good day, sweetie!” Romelia liked being able to drive Michelle-Anne to school and pick hym up, because bois’ schools kept shorter hours than girls’ schools and high schools, but hei always hated to say goodbye.

“Love you, Dad!” Michelle-Anne grabbed hys purse and backpack and ran off to find hys friends. As hei pulled away, Romelia saw several cars that hei recognized as being owned by some of the laddies that would be attending hys get-together later.
