Tina (now known as Chrissy) was still dealing with the fact that she was black now and that her parents were two former Goth girls Athena and Zelda, who were somehow older (by maybe 15 years?) and also a married lesbian couple.
Zelda embraced her. "Chrissy, you had us worried sick."
"What...happened to you two?" 'Chrissy' asked. "I mean..."
Athena looked at her sternly. "You are the one who snuck out. Promise you won't do that again."
She looked at the two women, looking upset...and she couldn't exactly, confused as she was, worry them more, even if she didn't know what was going on. "I...promise I'll be good," she said.
"See, love," Zelda said to Athena. "Let's get her home and cleaned up, and then you are going to school...I know you are new there, but you'll make friends soon."
As they headed out the door, Chrissy spotted someone else she recognized, being brought in. "Mom...." she whispered.
"Yes?" Athena and Zelda said, hearing her.
