Stumbling over to the prone figure, I found Biff, male once more, and still naked.
His arms now ended in stumps. I cringed just looking at them. I had taken a big chance, probably a very stupid one, at that. Somehow, though, I just knew it had to be done. Fortunately, he wasn't bleeding. I guess my sword had cauterized the wound.
"Thank you for not killing him." Sarah came up from behind me and knelt by her old boyfriend's side. "It looks like Aragashi's power has left him. He managed to fight off his control."
"He did it for you," Karyn remarked, putting her hand on Sarah's shoulder. "That's pretty rare. It's just too bad you can't return his feelings."
"Yes, it's too bad," Sarah said softly.
Just then, Biff groaned and opened his eyes. "Wha- What happened?"
Sarah gave him a hug. "You're alive. That's all that matters."
The young man sat up with some help from the blonde. Raising one of his stumps, he stared in disbelief at where his hand should have been. "I tried to kill everyone. But I didn't want to. I had to stop it. Sarah, I'm sorry."
"It's alright, Biff. You resisted long enough for Jenna to save us."
The sound of sirens reached our ears.
"Uh, guys," said Zoe. "Maybe we'd better get Biff some clothes and work on a cover story."
Sarah nodded. "Good idea. C'mon, Jenna. I need a little help here."
I moved to Biff's other side and, together with Sarah, managed to get him onto his feet. We had no idea where to go, but we knew we could not stay out in the open like this.
Just as we took our first step, I felt a familiar pressure in my breasts. "Oh no. Why now?"
"What's wrong?" Sarah asked.
"My breasts. It's gonna happen again."
She blinked at me. "Now? But why now? Unless " Sarah glanced at Biff, her eyes widening. "It can't be!"
"What?" I demanded, letting go of Biff to grab my nipples. Maybe I could hold it in until the moment passed.
"I think we found our fifth girl."
"Really? Where?" I looked around frantically. If she was here, I had to get out of the area before I could change her and lose the last male part of myself.
"Right here, Jon." Karyn came up next to me and pointed at Biff.
"Biff? A magical girl?" I tried to back away, but Zoe appeared behind me and blocked my escape.
"Jon, please. We need our fifth member."
"Well, I need my own member, thank you very much," I retorted. "I'm a guy, and I don't want that to change."
"What's she talking about?" Biff asked.
"You'll see soon enough," Sarah assured him.
"Jon, just let it happen," Karyn urged. Lowering her voice, she added. "If we ever find the rock, we can change things, but right now, the safety of the world is more important. We can't reach our potential and defeat Dark Lord Aragashi unless we have all five of us. I know it's hard, but you've seen what he can do to people, what he's still doing even now. What if he takes one of your neighbors next? Or your mother? Please, do it for humanity."
I closed my eyes. Why did these things always have to be so hard?
