Lonna walked inside her new home to find it empty. She found a note on the fridge during her wanderings around the building. It appeared to be from her mom.
Sorry honey I have been called in to work the night shift again. I have left some money for you to order something for tonight. I will see you tomorrow. Love Mom.
Well, at least that is one thing I won’t need to deal with tonight she thought as she continued her exploration of her hopefully temporary home. It didn’t take her long to find Lauren’s bedroom. She had a look in the closet and to her horror, she saw a collection of outfits that in her former role in life she would have never even looked at let alone wear. She knew that come the morning she would have to choose the least offending outfit to wear.
Lonna decided to have a look at her own Facebook page. However, when she tried to sign in to the page for Lonna Tran she instead brought up Lauren’s and before she knew it she had entered the correct password. It was only after she had done this did she stop and wonder how she had known the password. She located the page for her teacher but could not see anything on it. She then remembered that she had set it to private to stop anyone but her friends being able to see anything on it.
Lonna Sat there on Lauren’s bed and felt as if she had been locked out of her life. This was just the latest example of it. She had lost her job and her standing with her peers to Lauren. She longed to be able to talk to her friends to let them know what was happening. At the moment none of them would talk to her. All they would see is another annoying teenager who didn’t know how easy she had it much the same as she had that morning.
Just then her phone rang. It was Jake apologizing for whatever he had done that had brought an early end to what he was trying to do in the car before he dropped her off. Lonna did not want to mess up the relationship that Lauren had so she fobbed him off with the old headache answer. The two teenagers sat on the phone for over an hour before either of them knew it. In the background, Lonna heard Jake’s Mom call him to get something to eat.
Once the call was over Lonna rang for a takeaway of her own and settled down to watch the tv on her own. Her meal arrived 20 minutes later and she took the pizza back to where she had been sitting and continued watching the tv.
