His mother reached down and opened the top drawer.
Minutes later, Jon was lifted from the changing table into his mother's arms. He was now wearing a pretty pink and frilly dress, which was short enough to allow easy access to his diaper. Jon was a little uncomfortable to say the least. However, his mother did not notice his discomfort, and she continued to carry him out of his room. She seemed to have no trouble carrying him now, as if he only weighed as much as a little girl. Jon assumed it was the stone's interpretation of his wish; a mother would carry her little girl.
By now, Jon's mother was descending the stairs. Jon thought the slight bounce of being carried felt nice. The two entered the living room, where Jon's mother, after setting her son in a playpen within her sight, sat down on the sofa and started watching TV.
