When he got back to his room, a purse appeared slung over his shoulder. A moment, later a song he didn't recognize began belting out from something in the purse. He opened it and saw a pink cell phone buzzing and flashing along with the ring. He looked at the name of the caller and it said "Your Goddess"
"Your goddess, eh?" He flipped the phone open and answered it, "Uh, hello?"
"Hey dipshit," and he recognized Sarah's voice. "You coming to school today?"
"Uh, yeah, why wouldn't I?"
"Because I thought you might have some sense today. I am NOT going to quit cheerleading because of you, but so help me..." she was almost screaming at this point "...if you ever do anything to fuck with it again I will make you"
"Waitaminute!" he interrupted her. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about, asshole. You best keep a low profile today. If I so much as see you today, I'm going to make Biff pound you."
Sarah was a royal bitch, but jeezus, this was too much even for her. Jon felt a bit scared.
"Uh, ok, I'll stay away from you, I already decided not to come to the game." He added that last part, hopeful that it would appease her. It didn't.
"You decided?! Listen to me, Jon. I can't make you not go to school today, but I promise you, you will be in the hospital tonight if you are seen anywhere near the football field."
Jon had never heard Sarah threaten anyone like that before. He'd heard her tell freshmen to beat it, and told Karyn once that she would kick Karyn's ass, but it was more bravado than anything. This was a whole new level of hostility and he was actually scared. His voice quivered from it when he spoke again. "O-ok, I p-promise you don't have to worry about me today. Ok?"
"Fine." And then she hung up.
